How to Repair a leak in your SUNLOVER Solar Pool Heating

At this time of year, as we wind down from summer and put our solar pool heating systems into winter mode, a leak may be noticed. So how do you Repair a leak in your Sunlover solar pool heating?

There are 3 types of leaks that can occur on your Strip Solar Pool heating material (PVC Nitrile Premium Absorber) which you can repair with our at home repair kit.

The kit contains a number of Barbs, Sleeves, Grommets and Absorber tubes as shown below:

PIN HOLE LEAK

Isolate the affected solar tube and cut the tube at leak.

Using water based lubricant, lightly spray area with lubricant and insert a small joining barb into each end of the tube pushing them firmly together.

TEAR LEAK

Isolate the affected solar tube and cut away the damaged section of tube.

Using water based lubricant, lightly spray in tube with lubricant and insert a small joining barb into each end of the tube pushing them firmly together.

Place small section of replacement tubing (supplied in kit) between the joining barb and repeat process.

BROKEN MANIFOLD

If a barb at the black moulded manifold has broken, remove the affected barb and clean area.

Use a 5mm drill bit and carefully drill out the hole.

Using a grommet (supplied in kit) gently place into the newly drilled hole.

Using water based lubricant, lightly spray area with lubricant and insert a small joining barb. Then join the solar tube back onto the other end of the joining barb.

If the broken barb cannot be removed from the tube, cut the appropriate length off and place barb into tube and connect to manifold.

Alternatively, a replacement manifold can be purchased.
